Our client, a well-established contractor has an immediate need for an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreman to supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in spreading, rolling, tamping, and patching asphalt or similar material to form surfaces of highways, streets, parking lots. *The responsibilities of the Asphalt Paving Foreman *Ensuring the safety of crew members and the public. *Training new crew members. *Calculating the number of trucks required to haul asphalt from the hot plant according to vehicle capacity, distance from work site, and productivity of drivers. *Touring job sites to ascertain progress in meeting time schedules, to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment, measure slope and material thickness to verify compliance with contracts, and to supervise the job. *Supervising and coordinating crew activities, studying production schedules, and estimating work requirements for completion of job assignment in compliance with or beating the job estimate. *Maintaining time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing. *Maintaining company policy.

Established growing company is in need of an asphalt plant operator. Salary DOE, plus benefit package.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Astec double barrel plant experienced desired
  • Two -three years repair/maintenance experience required.
  • At least three (3) years experience as a Plant Operator.
  • Must have good mechanical repair, accurate math and concise communication skills.
Responsibilities
This position is involved in the daily activities of the asphalt plant, which include but are not limited to production, maintenance, service, and repair of all asphalt related equipment. Inspects and reports condition of machinery for items needing repair or service.  Replaces or repairs defective parts on plant using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.  Rebuilds or fabricates parts. Reads technical manuals and may order parts from central stores or outside suppliers.  May drive pickup or repair truck to pickup parts.  Operates loader to supply material to the plant.  Shovels aggregate material from area to be repaired or for general housekeeping purposes.  Performs other duties as directed.  Must have the ability to climb ladders, lift plant components up to 50 pounds, and work at heights of up to 100-feet and move in a variety of body positions.  Must be familiar with the material manufacturing process as well as the safety and environmental issues related to asphalt.

Responsibilities
Coordinates, plans and supervise field staff, subcontractors and craft activities for the assigned project. Maintains liaison with other departments and DOT representatives to insure all required materials, equipment and inspections support the project schedule.  Coordinates plans and specifications with the Project Manager, clarifying discrepancies.  Optimizes operations and procedures.  Chooses techniques and defines asphalt means and methods.  Supervises foreman.
